What we’re doing: Instead of adding a Tumblr page, make a new side blog and set a Tumblr page code as its theme.

e.g. previously, Tumblr page:

**your-blog-name**.tumblr.com/page-name

New URL: your-page-name.tumblr.com

Why we’re doing it: Mostly used as an alternative method to manually approving JavaScript usage for your account.

There is an ongoing bug where some newly created sideblogs will randomly delete themselves (not all of them, but it’s happened multiple times now). This issue is unresolved at the moment.

📄 Instructions:

  1. Create a new side blog: https://www.tumblr.com/new/blog

  2. For the blog title, give it anything you like.

  3. When picking a blog name, I recommend picking a URL that reflects the purpose of the page you're about to use. So e.g. I want this side blog for displaying my about page, I could call it something like about-glen:

Screenshot of a text field labeled “Blog name”, with the description “tumblr.com/blogname (you can change this at any time). The user has “about-glen” filled in.

  4. For the Privacy part, do not tick "Password protect the blog".

Screenshot of the “Privacy” section of setting up a new Tumblr side blog. The option labeled “Password protect this blog” is unticked.

  5. Complete the Captcha and click “Create Blog”.

  6. Once it’s created, go to its settings page: https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog/**your-new-blog-name**

e.g. If my blog name is about-glen, I would go to https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog/**about-glen**
